World of Warcraft Best Class
The first decision players have to make when creating their first World of Warcraft character is what race they want to be followed immediately with the decision what class they want to be. Here is where most new players go *Ok, now what, how do I know which is the best class?*. The truth is that all classes are pretty good; however they are not equal in what they do.
Blizzard employees have said many times that one of their goal with every new patch is to balance out the game in a way so no class is too powerful and no class is too weak. In my personal opinion they have done pretty good job when it comes to this, even though now and then players do complain that their class could have been a bit *better* in some way. Overall, the game is pretty balanced out and the decision new payers have to make is not that much *which class is the best?* but more like *what I want to do when playing the game?*. What do I mean with this? Let me explain.
World of Warcraft is online game and as such has quite large players community and it is quite often players are teamed up for to quest together, complete dungeons and raids or PVP. It is normal that when there are several players grouped up together, they will perform different roles for to succeed in whatever they are trying to achieve – someone will have to do damage, someone will have to heal, and someone will have to focus the monsters attention on themselves and withstand large amount of damage – the so called damage dealers, healers and tanks.
Depending on what choice the player makes when it comes to this, different choices for class are available. There are total of 10 classes in World of Warcraft. Some classes can perform 2 and even all 3 of the mentioned roles – these are ideal choice for class if you are unsure and would like to try it all. Here is short explanation of which classes are capable to do what.
- Mage: capable of dealing large amounts of magical damage to the enemy trough the power of fire, arcane or frost magic;
- Warlock: masters of the fire and shadow spells – magical damage dealers;
- Hunter: ranged physical damage dealers – shooting their arrows or bullets straight into the bulls eye and dealing a lot of damage to the enemy;
- Rogue: melee physical damage dealers – the ultimate melee damage class, able to use poisons to add additional damage to the opponents;
- Death Knight: able to both do melee damage through diseases and direct weapon damage as well as tank when needed;
- Warrior: even though most players expect from warriors to tank most of the time, they actually do excellent melee dps when they choose to be damage dealers in the group instead of tanks;
- Paladin: one of the 2 classes that can do it all – healing, tank and dps. Paladins are exceptional single target healers but they are doing just fine when they have to heal several people. Their dps is good and they make excellent tank;
- Druid: this is the 2nd of the 2 classes that can do it all, and some more. Druids can actually do everything the game has to offer – range magical dps, melee physical dps, tanking and healing. I have a druid and in my personal opinion this is one of the most fun classes to play;
- Shaman: melee and ranged dps and healers. Shamans also bring to the table their totems which are quite nice buffs for everyone in the group and are much welcome;
- Priest: priests can have 2 totally different healing specs – discipline or holy. They are quite different and fun to experiment with. Additionally the priests can do damage if they choose to go Shadow and play damage dealers.
Who Else Wants To Level Faster Than the Competition?
Some classes offer more versatility than others, but I leave it up to you to decide which role you would like to try the most and make a character from that specific class. You can never go wrong as no matter which class you choose you will have a lot of fun. Good Luck!
