World of Warcraft Worgen
Wow Cataclysm Worgen
The latest expansion to World of Warcraft named The Cataclysm introduced 2 new playable races to the gaming community – Worgen for the Alliance forces and Goblin for the Horde.
The city of Gilneas was once one of the greatest cities of Lordaeron. The war and destruction threatened to wipe from the face of the world the citizens of Gilneas during the Second War, so its elders decides to seal off all roads and barricade inside the city in hope to survive.
The people of Gilneas were one of the strongest and well known of the human kind nations, but soon their fate changed – they were attacked by Worgen. Powerful curse spread amongst the population and they became what we see now – half human and half wolf. However, the elders of Gilneas did manage to find a cure which at least partly stops the curse from completely consuming the minds of their people and they were able to keep their sanity even if they did not completely manage to cure the shape shifting and partly worgen behavior.
Worgen of Gilneas were once more discovered to the World of Azeroth when The Cataclysm came. The Great Wall that was protecting the city of Gilneas from the outside world was destroyed by the forces of the Forsaken and invasion was launched. Worgen fled to their old allies, the Night Elves and are currently living in Darnasus – the great capital city of their Night Elves Alliance friends.
Level Faster than the other Players, Learn How!
Several Worgen towns were discovered in the Cataclysm in the lands of Eastern Kingdom and Kalimdor, turning into new quest hubs telling the story of the brave half-humans.
Worgen of Gilneas are led by King Genn Greymane as their ultimate leader and Lord Darius Crowley who leads the Gilneas Liberation Front.
When the players choose to create a Worgen, they are given the choice of 8 out of 10 classes – the only classes they cannot chose to play as worgen are paladin and shaman.
Worgen have also developed some unique racial abilities with the time, related to their nature and the fact they have been fighting against the curse for so long – they are given increased shadow resistance, increased skinning speed and one of their best racial bonuses in my opinion is the increased critical strike chance.
Since they are a synergy between human and wolf, worgen are able to now and then drop on all four and run as fast as a wolf can. Additionally, the Worgen of Gilneas can control their curse so well that they are able to choose if they would like to stay in their human form or if they would like to appear in front of their friends and foes in their wild form.
The new race given to the alliance was much welcomed and many players actually choose to use the Race Chance service Blizzard offers to their subscribers and changed one or more of their characters into Worgen. We also saw many of our friends coming back to play World of Warcraft after short break just for to meet the new pointy-teeth friends and everyone seems to like the worgen and Blizzard’s decision to add them as new playable race in the Cataclysm.
